In short, my warrior is using some leather pieces in some of her armor set. Those pieces break my transmog.
Criteria would be something like this:
- You should be able to use the transmog piece.
- Consider plate > mail > leather > cloth. You can only transmog to a heavier armor type (i.e. to prevent warrior in dresses).
Allow transmog to heavier armor types

Re: Allow transmog to heavier armor types
hunter in a dress is bad ?
If we go heavier we may as well be able to go lighter as well , just my opinion. +1

+1, that's a great idea.
Re: Allow transmog to heavier armor types
I don't mind supporting lighter myself, and it would simplify the rule as it would just be "You should be able to use the transmog piece".Kniteknite wrote: ↑28 Aug 2021 20:02hunter in a dress is bad ?If we go heavier we may as well be able to go lighter as well , just my opinion. +1

However you should consider that the initial proposal would result in all classes ending up looking like they are intended to. Warriors appearing in plate, hunters in mail, rogues in leather and so on. While allowing lighter armor types would be a more radical change where you would struggle to identify the class from their appearance.
In my opinion, allowing lighter as well should be a separate suggestion.
Re: Allow transmog to heavier armor types
I updated the initial post.
In short, I changed "Should be able to use armor type of the transmog piece" to "Should be able to use the transmog piece". I forgot that gear is limited by for instance class restriction.

Big +1 to the suggestion.

Re: Allow transmog to heavier armor types
I'd actually prefer if we could transmog downward. My pala needs a dark or purple helm, and there just aren't any good options (no, High Chief isn't what I'm looking for). I'd love to be able to use a leather item (simple black strap) instead.
