My account was locked due to too many failed logins but the web interface seemed to allow me to remove the IP lock. But after that was fixed I'm still unable to login to the game client with my password.

Maybe i'll see if I can change the PW and retry or make a second client account

Yes, you should ONLY use a game account to log in (this is different from your Forum Account), not an e-mail.
You can check your Game Accounts @ https://truewow.org/account-manager
I think the password limit is 16 symbols.
You should be fine to recover the passwords from the above mentioned account manager and shorten them or reset them altogether,

If you already have the 3.3.5a client downloaded it should only take 5-10 minutes to get set up and playing. What were the problems that you experienced that made it take longer? We'd be glad to help, if you tell us what the trouble is.

I'm having a similar issue as babno. Cannot log in with my account names, but game seems to log in if I use the associated emails it seems to connect but then goes to a "Downloading update" screen.

I can see you're online now so it looks like you've gotten it resolved. Your game account name is always the correct one to use!

Downloading the torrent of this game is technically considered a copyright violation. Unless you frequently download games/movies/music which are copyrighted it is unlikely to result in any action taken against you. The ISP is just trying to cover themselves. That being said, it's recommended that you take some precautions when you use torrenting, particularly if you live in the United States. One of the easiest things to do is to ensure that you don't leave your torrent application open for long periods of time while seeding previously downloaded content. This is a common way to track who has downloaded such copyrighted materials after the download completes.

I download the WotLK client from __edited__ as the script provided for the torrent download did not work with my torrent program (BitTorrent). My internet is slow so it was a 6 hour download for me. I changed the realmlist to PrimalWoW and got to the opening screen just fine. I entered my game credentials and DID NOT use the Forum Account but after a long check I was disconnected from the server. Just for laughs, I used the Forum ID and password with the same result. So, I am at a loss as to what to try next. Thanks!

Works well now. I used an old post for realmlist and the GM corrected my error over Discord and now I am in! Thank you so much!
